Bizsales.sg (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the online marketplace at https://bizsales.sg (the “Site”), where buyers and sellers of businesses in Singapore connect. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal data in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

1. Information we collect

When you use the Site we may collect:

Account data — name, email address, password (hashed), and the role you register as (buyer or seller).
Listing data — the business details you voluntarily submit when creating a listing: asking price, financials, location, images, and other fields on the submission form.
Communications data — messages you send through enquiry forms, contact forms, or directly to sellers.
Usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL, and timestamps, collected via server logs and (where enabled) analytics tools.

2. How we use your information

To operate the marketplace — account creation, listing publication, search, and buyer-seller matching.
To moderate content and detect fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
To send transactional email (account verification, password resets, listing approvals, buyer enquiries).
To improve the Site and understand how it’s used in aggregate.
To comply with legal obligations in Singapore.

3. When we share information

We do not sell personal data. We share information only when necessary:

With sellers or buyers — when you send an enquiry through the Site, the recipient receives your message and, if you choose to provide it, your contact details.
Publicly — listing content you submit is published on the Site. Do not include personal data in listing text unless you intend it to be public.
With service providers — hosting (Vodien), email delivery (Gmail / Google Workspace), analytics, and security, who process data only on our instructions.
When required by law — in response to valid legal requests by Singapore authorities.

4. Retention

We retain account data while your account is active and for up to 24 months after closure for fraud prevention and legal compliance. Listing content is retained while published and for a reasonable period after removal for audit purposes.

5. Your rights under the PDPA

You may, subject to the PDPA, request access to or correction of your personal data, or withdraw consent to our collection or use of it. Submit requests to admin@bizsales.sg. We will respond within 30 days. Note that withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide parts of the Site to you.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data, including HTTPS throughout the Site, password hashing, brute-force login protection, and regular backups. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences, and may use analytics cookies to understand traffic patterns. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, the cookie banner on the Site.

8. Children

The Site is not directed at persons under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on the Site. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
